Photography Acts - The Eastbourne Shed
Leap Then Look
These are images created during a socially distanced workshop with five members of the Eastbourne Shed. We responded to the instruction MAKE AN IMAGE YOU WAN TTO TOUCH and thought about how we could use photography to capture the feel of the workshops and the experience of being there. Whilst we explored the space and the tools and materials in it we talked about the importance of the workshop as a social space and of the manlla, tactile quality of the work that takes place there.
Artist biography
Leap Then Look is a collaboration between British artists Lucy Cran and Bill Leslie. Together we create artworks, participatory projects, workshops, and events for people of all ages and abilities. Our aim is to inspire playfulness, inquisitiveness, and experimentation, using unconventional multi-disciplinary approaches, including object making, performance, installation, film, and photography. We believe that contemporary art practice should and can be a positive force in people’s lives and that we can all benefit from engaging with new ways of looking, making, and thinking.
