In 2019, London became the world's first National Park City, “A large urban area that is managed and semi-protected through both formal and informal means to enhance the natural capital of its living landscape",  It aims to make the city greener, healthier and wilder.  Uncommon considers one of London's green spaces, Wimbledon Common, and reveals the interventions of those who manage and use it. 

Uncommon:

1. outside or beyond normal experience or conditions; unusual
2. in excess of what is normal
3. exceptional; remarkable.

Mike Cookson is a London based photographer.  His work explores aspects of the 'man-altered’ landscape and how its many layers can be related to real and imagined memories and narratives. He has an affinity with the exploration of change, transition and the passage of time.  Mike has an MA in Photographic Arts from the University of Westminster and has exhibited his work in the UK and internationally.
