In 2013 I broke up with my partner and moved to a one bedroomed lower ground floor flat in Brighton. According to the estate agent it was not a basement flat because it opened onto a small patio.
My 10 year old daughter stayed with me some of the week and I began taking photographs and documenting our stay there.
It was a difficult time for me personally and taking photographs became cathartic. We moved to a bigger place 3 years later.
